Oh, unlucky number 13. Superstitions around the number go back eons before U2‘s career, but that doesn’t mean the Irish rock band aren’t susceptible to the bad luck the number seems to hold in its back pocket.
However work on their 13th album had stalled previously sometime between when Danger Mouse was working with the band and Ryan Tedder and Paul Epworth came in to lend a hand. Suddenly, what was expected to be a 2014 release, well, wasn’t.
Through all the confusion, U2 has officially remained committed to releasing the LP this year, despite reports that he was not satisfied with the work. Now, thinking has again shifted, with the band feeling confident about their new material and going ahead with plans to put out their follow-up to 2009’s No Line on the Horizon this year.
