Every week we feature a new pet available for adoption from shelters around North Texas thanks to Three Dog Bakery. Check out this week’s pet of the week looking for a fur-ever family: Liesl.
Liesl is a 6-8 year old lump of love. She spent her prior years in a puppy mill having litter after litter, but somehow that didn’t break her desire to love people. She is a Lhasa Apso, on the small side at 14 lbs.
When she arrived, she was near diabetic shock with her levels off the charts. Luckily she was diagnosed quickly with diabetes and put on a special diet along with insulin shots. Though this would usually cause fear to have to give twice a day shots, she is so trusting that she make is easy to administer. Getting her levels corrected has been a costly endeavor, but now that they are, her care is not costly from this point forward.
Liesl loves all other dogs and entertains herself with toys. She is potty pad trained and as mentioned earlier, very good about receiving any medical attention needed. Her eyes are endearing and when you hug her, she leans in as if to hug you back. You will be hooked after spending any amount of time with her. She also helps in fundraising with her artistic skills with her freestyle paw print painting. She will be at Three Dog Bakery in Plano on May 3rd from 10-12 if you would like to come out and meet her.
