This morning, we learned that beloved actress Shirley Temple passed away yesterday at the age of 85, as the New York Times reports. The former child star and U.S. Ambassador died peacefully yesterday surrounded by her family.
Temple was most known for as the dimpled darling with a head full of ringlets that bounced joyfully while she tap danced in films in the 1930s. Her trademark songs include “Good Ship Lollipop” and “Animal Crackers In My Soup.”
Shirley Temple Black later went on to become a U.S. Ambassador. She served as ambassador to Ghana and Czechoslovakia.
