Dog That Survived Fatal Crash Going Home Thanks To DFW Rescue Me

Holly is a lucky dog. She managed to survive and escape the fatal wreck that took the life of her owner Benny Gerlock, a truck driver from Rock Hall, Maryland. Now, with the help of DFW Rescue Me, Holly will get to go home to Maryland.

Holly was the the cab of the 18-wheeler Gerlock was driving when it hit an overpass. She managed to escape and a deputy found her. She was taken to Dallas Animal Services Lost and Found. The deputy who found the chocolate lab offered to adopt her.

The residents of Rock Hall have banded together, according to WFAA, to help bring the beloved dog home to attend her owner’s memorial service. DFW Rescue Me has taken Holly into a foster home to prepare her for the journey home.
