Primeval. This tale of a man-eating 25-foot croc was inspired by a 20-foot, 2,000-pound Nile crocodile believed to be responsible for taking the lives of hundreds of villagers in Burundi.
Texas Chainsaw Massacre. It didn’t really happen in Texas, but it was inspired by the true case of Wisconsin serial killer Edward Gein in the 1950s. It’s believed that he’s also the inspiration behind the movies Psycho and The Silence of the Lambs.
