A cheesy heist has landed an Illinois man in a New Jersey jail. The truck driver was arrested for trying to sell 21 tons of pilfered Muenster cheese, worth $200,000, at a New Jersey Turnpike rest stop.

K&K Cheese says that Veniamin Konstantinovich Balika, 34, used forged documents to steal the shipment of cheese bound for Texas. New Jersey police busted him at a rest stop and charged him with receiving stolen property and fencing.

“He was attempting to sell a load to the first available buyer,” New Jersey State Police Sergeant Adam Grossman told the Chicago Tribune.

The Middlesex County Health Department is holding the cheese in a refrigerated truck and making arrangements for legitimate buyers from Texas to come and get it.
