Talk of the economy has many fretting about their pocket books, but it doesn’t appear that the Tooth Fairy is seeing any bad effects.

According to the Original Tooth Fairy Poll, pay outs for lost teeth have gone up from $2.10 in 2011 to $2.42 in 2012. That’s a gain of 15.2 percent. The poll shows trends that matched those found on the Standard & Poor’s 500 index in 9 of the past 10 years. In fact, the 15.2 rise in Tooth Fairy pay outs closely matches the 13.4 percent gain on the S&P index.┬áIt seems that as the economy improves, the Tooth Fairy’s coin purse gets a little more generous.

Tony polled Lite FM listeners to see what the Tooth Fairy has been paying out around Dallas. The Tooth Fairy is very generous in giving $15 per tooth in some homes; school supplies and $25 iTunes giftcards in others.
