Biking to work or school or just around town is considered a great green way to around. Dallas has been labeled as one of the worst biking cities in the nation by Bicycle magazine.

Well now someone is going around making fake bike lanes and they confusing drivers and confusing city council members.

A few weeks ago fake markings started appearing downtown in yellow and green paint. The actual bike lane markers are white with two arrows on top. Part of the reason the lanes are appearing is because the city of Dallas has been facing recent pressure to add more and more bike lanes.

“It was amusing,” Cyclist Scott Yockel told WFAA. “I think it proves a point that people are not going to sit around and let the city drag its feet.”

So far the city has only noticed the fake lanes painted on two bridges that connect Oak Cliff to Downtown Dallas. The Houston Street and Jefferson Boulevard bridges have also been the site of a few serious collisions between bikes and cars.
