There is no escaping it. If the rows of red, heart-shaped boxes at the grocery store don’t get to you, the advertisements at every turn will. Valentines Day is less than a week away. If you find yourself flying solo this Valentines Day, don’t get down in the dumps! Check out these 5 fabulous ways to beat the blues on Valentines Day!
Hit The Spa
Go ahead, girl! Pamper yourself! The Bliss Spa at the W Hotel is hosting a great event for singles flying solo on Valentines Day. $12 admission will get you a Single & Sassy Tini or a Too Hot To Handle Margarita and a mini-mani. You can mix and mingle with other solo singles to music from DJ Tyrone Smiley. The event runs from 6pm to 9pm on Tuesday, February 14th.

Go To The Movies!
Who says you have to have a date to go to the movies? Depending on your tastes, you could see the sentimental mush-fest The Vow starring the hunky Channing Tatum, the clandestine rom-com This Means War starring Reese Witherspoon, or forego romance altogether and see Star Wars Episode 1: The Phantom Menace in 3D. Grab a package of red vines, a bag of pop corn, and a drink from the concession counter and you have dinner and a movie for one.
Go Out With Friends
Singles of a feather flock together! Gather your single friends for a fun night out in spite of all the happy couples. Go bowling, play a round of mini-golf, or grab a pizza and a bottle of wine to have during an epic 80s movie night.
Do For Others
Take your thoughts off yourself and think of others. Volunteer at a food bank or a soup kitchen. Play cards with seniors at an assisted living center. Offer to babysit for your married friends with kids (you’ll be a super lifesaver!).
Who said you had to get out and see people? Be your own Valentine. Grab a box of chocolates, pull up Valentines Day on Netflix, and call in a romantic dinner for one to go from your favorite Chinese restaurant. Curl up with your four-legged family member on the couch and enjoy a quiet night in.
