C.S. Lewis once said, “You can’t get a cup of tea big enough or a book long enough to suit me.” If coffee is associated with jolting you awake, then tea is known for soothing relaxation. However, after you’ve had your zen-filled cup of tea, what do you do with the leftovers? Before you ditch those tea leaves, check out some ways you can recycle those green leaves of goodness.

1. Clean your carpet: You can use dried up, used green tea leaves as a carpet freshener of sorts. Just sprinkle the leaves around your carpet, let them sit for 10 minutes or so, and then vacuum them up!

2. Make your wood floors shine: Black tea has tannins that help shine and put the color back in hardwood floors. Carefully rub some brewed tea into the floor during your regular cleaning routine and let that air dry. Try not to use too much water as that could be bad for your floor.
